Two days after Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar challenged AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi to excavate all mosques of the state, minority group Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) has approached the Hyderabad Police to file an FIR against the BJP MP over the provocative speech.
The BJP leader even called for abolishing the 4% reservation for Muslims in the state.
MBT spokesperson Amjadullah Khan, in his complaint to Dabeerpura police, stated: “This is to inform you that Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar addressed a public meeting in Karimnagar on May 25 on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi. He delivered a highly provocative speech to create communal hatred among Hindus and Muslims. He used harsh and derogatory language against Islam and Muslims. He called for the digging of all mosques in Telangana while alleging that they were built on temples.”
He further stated: “Bandi Sanjay’s speech was full of hatred and aimed at inciting violence. Therefore, we request you to kindly register a case against Bandi Sanjay under the relevant sections of the IPC and take necessary action. Lack of action or delay in registering a case might lead to deterioration of the law & order situation in Telangana as the minority community members are planning a huge protest against this provocative speech by the BJP leader.”
Reacting to Kumar’s speech, AIMIM stated: “The BJP government at the Centre has done nothing for the people of Telangana in eight years. This is why Bandi has to spread hatred. Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana DGP, CP Karimnagar must take exemplary action to prevent untoward incidents and protect communal harmony of Telangana.”
Addressing the Hindu Ekta Yatra held on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Karimnagar on Wednesday, Kumar had said: “Wherever mosque premises are excavated, Shivalingas are found. I’m challenging Owaisi that we will dig all mosques in the State. If dead bodies are recovered, you (Muslims) claim it. If Shiva (Shivalinga) is found, hand it over to us. Will you accept it?” When BJP will come to power in Telangana, minority reservations will be abolished and the Urdu language will be banned.”
