The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is under the scanner. The Commission has become a laughing stock due to repetition of 41 questions in the Common Eligibility Test (CET) screening test for 32,000 Class III posts. While the Commission is studying the mistake at its own level, legal opinion has also been sought from the Advocate General (AG). The person who printed the paper has also been summoned. Here, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has sought an answer from the commission.
According to sources, the government has taken the matter seriously. On the other hand, taking cognizance of the matter, the reasons have been asked from the commission chairman. Actually, this exam was conducted in two parts. Group-57 and Group-56 exams were held on Sunday and Monday respectively. There were 41 questions in Monday’s paper which appeared in Sunday’s exam as well. Not only this, out of the total candidates, there were 27 thousand 142 who appeared in both the examinations.
That is, about ninety percent of the candidates also gave the second exam. In this way, there were 41 questions which were faced by the candidates who took the exam on Monday as well on Sunday.
After this was revealed on Monday, the commission kept silence for the whole day. When the opposition made it an issue and the candidates also objected to the repetition of questions, Commission Chairman Bhopal Singh Khadri said on Tuesday, ‘We are studying at our level where the mistake happened.
The paper publisher has been called to find out how so many questions were repeated. Legal opinion is also being taken in this matter. On the question related to the cancellation of the exam, he said, ‘First we will study. Any decision will be taken only after legal opinion. On the other hand, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is reported to have taken strong notice in this matter. It is said that the CM has sought clarification from the commission chairman.
Please inform here that this is the same exam, for which the commission and the government were advocating in the Punjab and Haryana High Court till late night. After giving a stay by the single bench, the government went to the double bench, from where it got relief.
Of course, the High Court had given permission to the Commission to conduct the exam, but there is a ban on releasing the result. The way 41 questions have now been repeated, it is natural to affect the result. It usually happens that the candidates who give such exams also study the old question papers. Here, 41 questions were repeated not from months or years old, but from the previous day’s paper itself.
Opposition parties are alleging that everything is going awry in the Selection Commission. Allegations are also being made that this has been done for the sake of the loved ones. However, commission chairman Bhopal Singh Khadri has denied these allegations outright. They say that the commission does not even know what is there in the question paper. Papers are prepared by different people. After this comes four sets of paper. Any of these sets are opened in the examination center. No one has a clue of what is inside.
