Cold wave conditions persisted in Delhi NCR, as well as in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana, on Sunday.
The minimum temperature in the national capital continued to dip, as reported by the India Meteorological Department. At 5:30 PM on Sunday, the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 4.9 degrees Celsius.
At Pusa Observatory, the minimum temperature was 3.8 degrees Celsius, marking a drop of 5 degrees Celsius. In Narela, the temperature was recorded at 5 degrees Celsius.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi remained in the ‘poor category’ on Sunday, with a further deterioration in air quality. The city is grappling with both the cold wave and ongoing pollution-related issues.

In Punjab, Gurdaspur and Bathinda experienced chilly nights, recording minimum temperatures of 2 degrees Celsius and 4.6 degrees Celsius, respectively, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Pathankot recorded a low of 3.5 degrees Celsius, while Amritsar’s temperature dropped to 3.9 degrees Celsius, the IMD reported, citing PTI.
Ludhiana saw a minimum temperature of 6.8 degrees Celsius, and Patiala registered 3.8 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Hisar recorded a cold 1.7 degrees Celsius, while Narnaul’s temperature was 3 degrees Celsius.
Bhiwani also experienced piercing cold with a low of 4 degrees Celsius, while Gurugram logged 5.6 degrees Celsius.
Rohtak recorded a low of 5.2 degrees Celsius, and Ambala had a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
Chandigarh, the shared capital of Haryana and Punjab, recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius.
The cold wave is expected to persist in the coming days, with Delhi’s minimum temperature anticipated to remain below 5 degrees Celsius. The mercury is likely to drop further, bringing foggy conditions to the region.
