Following a tragic event where seven people were killed due to a land dispute in Fatehpur village, Devaria, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken strict action. Citing negligence, CM Yogi has suspended 15 officials, including the local SDM and CO, based on preliminary reports. Proceedings will also commence against four former SDMs.

The investigation, ordered by CM Yogi, revealed that the deceased, Satya Prakash Dubey, had made multiple complaints about illegal encroachments on community land under the IGRS system. These complaints were sent online to the police and revenue departments, but both departments failed to address the issue seriously, leading to the tragic event. Therefore, orders for action have been issued against the negligent officials involved.

Among those suspended are the current SDM of Rudrapur, Yogesh Kumar Gaud, CO Jilajit, Tehsildar Keshav Kumar, former Tehsildar Ramashray (currently posted in Balrampur), Revenue Inspector Vishal Nath Yadav, and several other police personnel. Previous references under the IGRS for negligence also led to the suspension of former SHO Sunil Kumar and other constables.

Additionally, departmental actions will be taken against former CO of Rudrapur, Dinesh Kumar Singh Yadav, previous SDMs Ram Vilas, Om Prakash, Dhruv Shukla, and Sanjeev Kumar Upadhyay, as well as retired officials Vanshraj Ram and Ramanand Pal. Suspended Tehsildar Abhay Raj will face further charges.
