The newly constructed overbridge aims to streamline traffic and provide infrastructural boost.
To streamline traffic in the historic city of Dinanagar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated the newly built railway overbridge near Dinanagar Railway Station on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway section on Monday, dedicating it to the people.
By inaugurating this railway overbridge, built at a cost of Rs 51.74, Mann has given a gift to the residents of the city. The construction of this railway overbridge was carried out near Dinanagar Railway Station in Gurdaspur district on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway section at C-60 level crossing. The project includes the construction of roads connecting the railway segment, with the entire cost borne by the Punjab government. This project, which is 7.30 meters long and 10.5 meters wide, started in 2019 and was completed on schedule.
The railway overbridge has 0.75-meter-wide footpaths on both sides and is equipped with service roads and highway lights. Proper parking has been constructed under the bridge using paver tiles. This project is of great importance to the city’s residents and will help in easing traffic flow.
The construction of this railway overbridge will eliminate the C-60 level crossing on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway line. This will provide convenient transportation facilities for people coming to Dinanagar city from the border villages. It will also serve as a strategic route for military movement, aiding in the defense of the country’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty.
