On Friday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced five more guarantees in accordance with the promises. These guarantees have been made to benefit all sections, from rural areas to youth and women. These include free laptops and tablets for first-year government college students, implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) through law and Rs 15 lakh insurance cover for losses incurred during any natural disaster.
Chief Minister Gehlot, while addressing a press conference in Jaipur, promised that the guarantees proposed by his government will be implemented if his government is re-elected in the state assembly elections.
Like Chhattisgarh, the Rajasthan government will now purchase cow dung from cowherds at Rs 2 per kilo. A guarantee of education in English medium has been given to every student. Chief Minister Gehlot said that every child will be admitted to an English school when needed, and more schools will be opened. The first-year students of government colleges were guaranteed free laptops.
Along with this, the Chief Minister said that given the increasing disasters in the state, the government provides free insurance relief of up to 15 lakhs to every affected family. He said, “The Modi government at the centre is opposing the revival of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). After returning to power, we will bring an OPS law for government employees, which no government can close.”
It is worth mentioning that during Priyanka Gandhi’s visit to Jhunjhunu, Congress had already made two promises. These included giving gas cylinders to 1 crore 4 lakh families in the state for Rs 500 and announcing Rs 10,000 per year to women, who are the heads of the family.
Chief Minister Gehlot explained that for the registration of all seven guarantees, give a missed call to 8587070707. On the re-election of the Congress government, the Congress government will fulfil all seven guarantees.
In addition to this, in the press conference, State President Govind Singh Dotasara launched a scathing attack on the centre and BJP leaders over the ED raid. He demanded that the ED tell what they got from him. He said, “The Modi government cannot scare them by raiding two-year-old cases during the elections.”
The Chief Minister alleged that the agency made Dotasara its target because he is very much vocal against the Centre. He said, “Congress chief (of Rajasthan) has done so much advertisement of the government’s policies, programs, decisions…however ED reached his home…It has reached only to target him as he speaks a lot about the government…”
He further said that it’s the ED, “more than dogs” that is on the prowl in the country. “A chief minister (Bhupesh Baghel) had to say that more than dogs, it’s the ED that is on the prowl in the country. (Desh me kutton se jyada ED ghum rahi hai). What could be a bigger misfortune than this?” he said.
The Chief Minister added, “What’s happening in the country? Democracy is under threat. The Constitution has been tattered. ED, Income Tax and CBI are following instructions (of the Central government)…They have become a political weapon for the past 9 years and only raid leaders of the opposition.”
State in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Speaker CP Joshi, senior party leader Mohan Prakash, MLA Harish Chaudhary, and others were present at the press conference.
