Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakahand’s CM paid tribute to the martyrs of the state at the martyrs memorial in the court on the occasion of the state foundation day.

Dhami said, “It has been 22 years since the foundation of the state of Uttarakhand. I pay my respects to the martyrs and revolutionaries of the state. We are determined to build Uttarakhand as per their visions.”

Uttarakhand was founded in 2000 as the 27th state of India on this day. The state was carved out of Uttar Pradesh on 9th November 2000,under the BJP government after a long-drawn distress. On State Foundation Day in Dehradun, the Chief Minister also opened an exhibition held at the BJP office.

On Uttarakhand’s statehood day on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the state and praised its residents for their extraordinary contributions to nation-building in a variety of fields.
Additionally, he hoped that Uttarakhand will continue to advance in the years to come. PM Modi tweeted on the occasion, “Statehood Day greetings to the people of Uttarakhand. This is a state closely associated with nature and spirituality. People from this state are making phenomenal contributions, across many sectors, to nation-building. May Uttarakhand keeps progressing in the coming years.”

In order to become a state, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal was founded in the 1990s, during which time a sizable statehood movement swept the area. It persisted for many years. The state of Uttarakhand was subsequently created, at first under the name of Uttaranchal. On August 28, 2000, K. R. Narayanan, the president at the time, gave his approval to the measure, which later became an act. Uttaranchal was finally called Uttarakhand on January 1st, 2007.

The Sanskrit term for “Northern City” is where the name Uttarakhand originates. Its name was changed to Uttarakhand on January 1st, 2007. One of the most popular tourist attractions in India, the state is a fusion of culture, race, and religion. Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tibet, and Nepal are some of the bordering states of Uttarakhand.
