Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has responded to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s comments about a “circus.” He responded sharply saying, that Gehlot effectively performed a “circus” for a full five years, often shifting locations from hotels to other venues.
During the inauguration of the Tiger Safari at Nahargarh Biological Park in Jaipur on Monday, CM Sharma took aim at Gehlot, saying, “These days, Ashok Gehlot is quite active on ‘X’ and writing extensively. I want to remind him to reflect on his own words from ten months ago. When one points a finger at someone else, three fingers point back at them. He should keep this in mind.”
Sharma emphasised Gehlot’s experience as a multiple-time chief minister, urging him to self-reflect before making statements.
“He has been in politics for a long time and could have implemented the changes he is now advocating for himself,” Sharma remarked.
“He should consider how well he has lived up to his own words. Whether the Bharatiya Janata Party government is at the centre or in the state, whatever we have said, our government fulfills it. We had said that we will work to provide one lakh jobs. In 5 years, we will work to provide four lakh jobs. This is probably the first occasion when the cabinet has approved 90,000 job posts at once. What we have said, we will fulfill it completely.
After the inauguration, Sharma also went on a tiger safari and visited the biological park. Now wildlife lovers will also be able to enjoy tiger safari in Nahargarh. During the safari, the chief minister also named two tiger cubs in Nahargarh Biological Park. The chief minister named the female tiger cub ‘Skandi’ and the male tiger cub ‘Bheem’. Sharma congratulated the people of the state on the Wildlife Week being celebrated from October 2 to October 8 and said that it is the duty of all of us to protect wildlife and preserve nature. In this wildlife week, students are being given free entry to biological parks. He said that the tiger safari starting on Monday with the joint efforts of the Forest Department and JDA has given a new start to tourism in the state. Along with this, it will also promote the conservation and promotion of tigers.
Rajasthan enhances wildlife conservation and tree planting efforts
The chief minister said that Rajasthan is giving special emphasis on the conservation and promotion of wildlife. Three national parks, 26 sanctuaries, 36 conservation reserves and four biological parks have been developed in the state. He said that due to the continuous efforts being made by the state government for the conservation of tigers, their population is increasing. There are about 130 tigers in Rajasthan. He said that JDA has developed two new parks in Jaipur district. These include Nagar Van in Zerota and Biodiversity Park near Nevta. This will benefit the population of 5 lakhs in the surrounding area. Sharma said that under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, and ‘Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Maha Abhiyan’ started Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seven crore saplings have been planted in the state. He said that the state government is continuously planting trees under the ‘Hariyalo Mission’. Under which 10 crore saplings will be planted every year in the next five years.
Tiger Safari will promote conservation
The state government has developed a tiger safari in 30 hectares at a cost of Rs 453 lakh. A 7 km safari track has been developed in this tiger safari. This safari will give tourists an opportunity to experience the beauty of tigers in the natural environment and will spread awareness about tiger conservation among people.
It is noteworthy that Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 5 thousand 240 hectares. Nahargarh Biological Park has been developed in 720 hectares. Lion Safari is already operating in it. Minister of State for Urban Development (Independent Charge) Jhabar Singh Kharra, Minister of State for Forest and Environment (Independent Charge) Sanjay Sharma, MLA Prashant Sharma, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Heritage) Mayor Kusum Yadav, Principal Chief Forest Conservator Arijit Banerjee and many wildlife lovers were present in the ceremony.
