For a long time, the discussion pertaining to the amendment in the rules in the recruitments of police department continues to surface in Haryana. In the cabinet meeting held last month, a proposal was also tabled to amend the rules related to recruitment. Following this, now the Chief Minister has given nod to the amendment in rules in police recruitment and the same is most likely to be brought in the forthcoming cabinet meeting for final approval. According to the amendment in the rules, now the fifth portion of the police department’s recruitment examination will be entirely related to Haryana.
Prior to this, Home Minister Anil Vij had recommended amendments in the rules stating that a particular portion in the paper should be related to Haryana so that candidates from other states appearing in exam to also have complete information about Haryana. Following Chief Minister’s approval, 20 questions in the police recruitment exam will be related to Haryana’ culture, history and concerned aspects making candidates from outside states to have an insight about the statw. Keeping this aspect in mind, an amendment has been made so that they also have complete information about Haryana. Apart from this, the candidates and youth participating in the recruitment of the state will also get information about the untouched aspects of the state during the preparation.
Anil Vij , Home Minister said that he had given suggestions regarding amendment in police recruitment rules, which were approved by CM Manohar Lal on Monday. In the police recruitment exam 20 questions will be related to Haryana’s culture, food, history, literature and other aspects.
Official information has revealed that a change was recommended in Punjab Police Recruitment Rule 12.16, which has now been approved. It is pertinent to mention that the exam contains the questions based on general knowledge, reasoning, current affairs, trade and other aspects in the paper. According to the rules, after the candidates have applied, first of all there will be a physical screening test. Only those candidates who pass the physical test will be allowed to appear in the written examination.
Notably, Home Minister Anil Vij had raised questions on the newly prepared examination pattern for recruitment to the posts of constable and sub inspector in Haryana. Expressing objection to the exam pattern, Vij has asked to include questions related to Haryana in the exam so that the youth of the state can benefit. Generally there was a complaint and discussion that in police or many other examinations held earlier entirely lacked questions about culture, history, general knowledge or other aspects of Haryana. Because now the new rules have been approved in the recruitment of Police Department, in the upcoming time, the recruitment examination will help in promotion of culture, general knowledge and history of Haryana.
The proposal prepared for police recruitment was brought in the cabinet meeting last month. It was brought to the cabinet meeting on October 11 after getting approval from the Advocate General Office . After the file of revised recruitment rules came to Home Minister Anil Vij, he objected to it saying that questions related to Haryana have not been included in the exam pattern in recruitment.
There must be questions based on Haryana in the exam. After this the file was put on hold till the next meeting. It is pertinent to mention that posts of Sub Inspector will be filled equally through promotion and direct recruitment while Educational qualification for constable will be 12th and and graduation for the post of constable and sub inspector respectively.
