Amid tight security arrangements, the Civil Secretariat—the seat of the Jammu and Kashmir government—and Raj Bhavan will reopen in Jammu on Monday after functioning for six months in Srinagar as part of the nearly 150-year-old practice locally known as ‘Darbar Move’.

A high-level meeting was held in Jammu on Sunday evening to look for the arrangements related to security and to ensure the smooth functioning of the administration.

According to the officials, the meeting was attended by IGP Jammu zone Mukesh Singh and Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Verma besides many senior officers ensuring that there is no disturbance in Jammu city on the day of the opening of offices.

An official spokesman said that adequate arrangements especially those related to security have been put in place in Jammu city to ensure the smooth functioning of the civil secretariat and Raj Bhavan.
