In a joyous celebration of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya, several newborns in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district were bestowed with names honoring Lord Ram and Mata Sita on the auspicious day.
Dr. Vishal Shukla, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Damoh District Hospital, shared the heartwarming news, stating, “According to our culture, family members came along with women patients and started to name their children like Ram, Siya, Janki, Ayodhya Prasad.” The families expressed immense pride and happiness, considering the special occasion of the consecration in Ayodhya.
In the absence of specific requests for a special muhurat, Dr. Shukla highlighted that the naming tradition unfolded organically. Approximately 80 deliveries, including those in private hospitals, occurred across the district on Monday. Out of the 28 children born till midnight on January 22, there were 10 girls and 18 boys.
The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla took place at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Monday, with the idol being unveiled during the hour-long rituals led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ceremony attracted around 8,000 invitees, including 1,500-1,600 distinguished guests.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in traditional Nagara style, stands as a grand testament to architectural and cultural excellence. Spanning 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and 161 feet in height, the temple boasts 392 pillars and 44 doors adorned with intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities.
In the main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor, the idol of Shri Ramlalla, representing the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram, has been reverently placed. The naming of newborns in Damoh reflects the deep cultural and spiritual significance associated with the momentous occasion of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
