The Chhattisgarh High Court in the case observed and has directed its administrative side in order to decide the representation seeking mandatory usage of ‘A4 size papers’ in the High Court and the subordinate Courts of the State for all purposes like preparation of applications, petitions, affidavits etc.
The Division bench comprising of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi in the case was hearing the two Public Interest Litigations, PIL moved seeking directions from the Court to amend the High Court of Chhattisgarh Rules, 2007 so as to allow use of A4 size papers, printed on both sides, for presentation of pleadings and all the other supporting documents.
The court also seek direction from the court to issue an ‘administrative order’ in order to ensure the mandatory usage of A4 size papers, printed on both sides, for all the purposes of the High Court as well as all the subordinate Courts of the State.
The counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted before the court that the petitioners have filed a representation dated 04.03.2020 before the High Court for redressal of their grievance but the same is pending with the Court since then.
The court in the case observed and has disposed of the PIL wherein directing the Registry or administrative side of the High Court to decide the representation filed by the petitioners within the period of eight weeks.
