Chhattisgarh’s deputy chief minister, TS Singh Deo, expressed optimism that Congress will be given an additional five years to represent the state’s citizens prior to the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the schedule for the upcoming Assembly elections in the five states.
TS Singh Deo said, “The sooner (elections) the better. Nowadays, there are five years to prepare for the elections, whatever work you do from the day you get the responsibility is seen as preparation for elections. We focussed on important issues for the public. Hopefully, we will get another five years to serve.”
He continued, “Recently a Naxal incident came up, an incident also surfaced from Ujjain at the same time. In the last five years, the Congress government in the state has successfully controlled Naxalism. Such events have more to do with morbid psychology than with the government. It is the responsibility of the government if it is aware that something will occur but does nothing to prevent it. But which government can foresee such crimes when someone with a morbid mindset commits them? Arun Sao, the president of the Chhattisgarh BJP, declared that the Congress should leave the state.
“The citizens of Chhattisgarh are determined to remove Congress from office. The dawn will change. There won’t be any crime in our state. It’s time for our adversaries in Congress to leave, he declared. In Chhattisgarh, Congress was successful in winning 68 of the 90 seats in 2018. 43.9 percent of the vote went to the party. With a vote share of 33.6%, the BJP was able to win 15 seats. Vishwas Sarang, a minister for Madhya Pradesh, exuded confidence and predicted that the BJP would win more than 150 seats.
