Joint team of Chandigarh police station-49 and District Crime Cell arrested the accused in a blind murder case within 7 hours of the incident on Monday. The arrested accused was identified as Vimal, resident of Phase 7 Market Baranda village Badadiwala Kallan police station Ganga Ghat, Unnao UP.

The accused works as a junk/garbage collector. The accused killed his friend over a minor dispute. According to the information received, deceased Ajit had a fight with accused Vimal recently over some issue. That’s why the accused kept a knife from him. Accused Vimal took the victim Ajit (deceased) with him on the pretext of committing theft in the area. Beaten and strangled near Indian Enclave Society, Sector 51B, Chandigarh. According to Inspector Jasbir Singh, SHO 49 and Inspector Jasminder Singh, in-charge District Crime Cell said that a case of murder was registered on the complaint of Rekha, resident of Sector 38 West Chandigarh.

In the inspection of the body, it was found that belts were wrapped around the neck of the body and there was blood on it. The deceased was identified as Ajit, resident of Sector 38 West Chandigarh. In the case, the accused Vimal was arrested from behind Sector 51 Chandigarh Police Society.
