In line with modernization and urban development initiatives, the Municipal Corporation has undertaken a significant overhaul of the Sector 34 market, aiming to create a vibrant and attractive environment for both residents and visitors.

Today, City Mayor Kuldeep Kumar officially inaugurated the revitalized market in the presence of Area Councillor Prem Lata, representatives from the Market Welfare Association, and prominent individuals from the area.

During his address, the Mayor emphasized that the revamped Sector-34 market stands as a testament to the commitment to enhancing the area’s appeal and economic vitality. He expressed his satisfaction with the transformation and anticipated its positive impact on the local economy.

The Mayor extended a warm invitation to the public, announcing the opening of the revamped market and encouraging residents and visitors to explore its upgraded facilities for an enhanced shopping experience.

MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra, IAS, highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Municipal Corporation and local stakeholders, underscoring the project’s reliance on public-private partnerships. She described the revitalization as a symbol of collective vision for a progressive and inclusive city, expected to attract increased footfall and bolster economic activity.

Mitra elaborated on the comprehensive renovation process, focusing on improvements to flooring and infrastructure. Notably, the front of the market and showrooms now feature high-density chequered tiles, offering a modern and visually appealing ambiance. Additionally, the installation of old MS railings enhances safety while adding elegance to the surroundings.

The renovation also included refixing paver blocks at the backside of SCO/Booth, ensuring improved durability and aesthetics.

The entire renovation project was executed with precision and adherence to quality standards, involving an approximate expenditure of 45 lakhs.
