A plethora of challenges are facing the new Haryana BJP President Naib Singh Saini. Saini is going to take charge at the BJP office in Rohtak on Monday. As soon as Saini takes charge, he will face a big challenge of restoring trust between the government and the organization.
At the same time, all the party workers from North Haryana to South Haryana will have to go through a big test of taking it along. When the discussions about changes in the Union Cabinet started, Naib Saini’s name was also floated for minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His biggest supporter is Chief Minister Manohar Lal himself. When Manohar Lal looked after organizational work in BJP (Haryana BJP).
Then Naib Saini was his computer operator. Winning the trust of the Chief Minister, Naib Saini has easily covered the journey from computer operator to state president of the party. Now his challenges will begin in the party.
As the state president of BJP, Nayab Singh Saini’s first challenge is to make the party win in the elections of 28 urban bodies including three municipal corporations of Faridabad, Gurugram and Manesar in the state. Warding work has been completed in most of these urban bodies. Chief Minister Manohar Lal has also indicated that urban body elections will be held two days ago. In such a situation, Saini will have to pass the first test of organizational skills by helping the party win the urban body elections.
BJP is claiming to win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Congress also has the same claim. At present there are BJP MPs on all 10 seats. Many MPs of the party do not want to contest the Lok Sabha elections this time. His eyes are on contesting the assembly elections. If the party does not make Naib Saini contest the Lok Sabha elections, then there will be a new candidate for his seat also. Tickets of some MPs will be changed. In such a situation, a huge challenge rests on Naib Saini to win all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state and make him the Chief Minister and Prime Minister.
BJP government has been formed twice in Haryana. Naib Saini himself was a minister in the first government. He became an MP in the second term. Chief Minister Manohar Lal is hopeful of coming to power for the third time due to the work of his government and the wave of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Congress has similar hope that its government will be formed in the state. Everyone’s eyes will be on whether Nayab Saini, with his organizational skills and coordination in ticket distribution, succeeds in forming the BJP government in the state for the third time or not, and this is a big challenge.
Omprakash Dhankhar did excellent work during his three and a quarter year tenure in the party. He was recognized as a very active president. He met the workers comfortably and did the party work. He has good relations at the Center too, but Dhankhar could not succeed in completely bridging the gap between the Chief Minister’s office and the workers in Haryana.
Now since both Naib Saini and Manohar Lal are two people with the same thinking, their biggest challenge will be to restore trust between the organization and the government.
