Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader Sanjay Singh criticized the BJP after AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan was granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He described money laundering cases as a “drama” and a tool used by the central government to target opposition leaders.
Singh highlighted that the court had made it clear no leader should be detained for extended periods under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He noted that although there was no corruption case against Khan, he was still jailed, only to now be granted bail. Reacting to Khan’s bail, Singh said, “The money laundering case has become a drama and a weapon of the BJP.” He added, “The BJP files PMLA cases against whoever they wish to trap or detain, aiming to deny bail. But our fight has seen results.
After Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendar Jain got bail, and despite the allegations against me, these bail orders have set a national precedent that no one can be held in jail on false charges indefinitely.”

According to Singh, Khan faced a similar ordeal, without any corruption case against him.

According to Singh, Khan faced a similar ordeal, without any corruption case against him. “He had already been granted bail by the lower court but was sent to jail over a false case from 2016,” he said. Singh also remarked, “I repeatedly tell PM Modi that if he harbors such anger and resentment, then he should have us stand at a crossroads and shoot us.”
Singh added, “If the AAP has become such a thorn in Modi ji’s side, he should stand our members at a crossroads and have us shot rather than wasting the country’s time and money. PM Modi has turned these investigative agencies into a spectacle. People now laugh at them—when the ED shows up, people say, ‘The monkeys have arrived.’”

Concluding his remarks, Singh said, “They come to houses, jump around, and leave. They’ve lost all credibility. The ED has turned into a comedy circus, acting like an entertainment department. Filing false cases and using the ED as a BJP weapon has become common nationwide.”
