A viral post by a Canadian woman on X has sparked a heated debate, as she alleges she was terminated from Tim Hortons after speaking out against discriminatory hiring practices. The woman claimed the company favored Indian immigrants, raising concerns about diversity and inclusion. The post, shared by Klaus Arminius and amassing over 4.5 million views, stated that Indian managers were exclusively hiring fellow Indian immigrants, leading to an unfair workplace. When she addressed these concerns with management, she was reportedly dismissed. This controversy unfolds as Canada experiences a surge in immigration and the Trudeau government implements new restrictions.

The post has drawn widespread attention, with many offering differing perspectives on the issue. While some discussed the potential consequences of favoritism in hiring, others argued that qualified immigrants deserve equal opportunities. Tim Hortons has yet to respond to the accusations.

One user remarked, “You can’t blame immigrants for getting jobs. If they’re qualified, they deserve a chance just like anyone else.” Another commented, “She should make a complaint, there are laws against 1 hiring only from 1 ethnicity and 2 retaliation against employees. She’ll probably win big if she sues them.”

A third user shared, “This seems like common practice now. My 2 younger cousins in high school work in a Walmart, and when the Indian manager took over for hiring, they said the store has become mostly Indian now. When before it was a mix of people.” A fourth added, “It’s a shame that speaking up led to her losing her job. Everyone deserves a voice.”

A fifth said, ”Canada is a nation built on immigration, but we need to ensure fairness for everyone involved, whether new to the country or not.”

A few months ago, a viral video surfaced showing dozens of foreign students in Canada, predominantly Indians, lining up in search of jobs at Tim Hortons.
