The Calcutta High Court in the case observed and has directed the the State to file a status report in a plea concerning the rape of a ten-year-old visually-impaired girl at a blind-school and children’s home in Haridevpur, on the September 08, 2023.
The counsel, Advocate-petitioner appearing in person, submitted before the court that in spite of serious allegations being made against the alleged perpetrators, the local police had failed to initiate any steps, and prayed for the probe to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI.
It was also submitted before the court that Ten years girl was raped…police have not taken action in accordance with law…this is a democracy? Blind school…I want the CBI. Thus, no persons have been arrested. He, the alleged perpetrator has money, I do not have money lordship…everything is possible with money nowadays…nothing has happened yet. Kindly look into it.
The counsel appearing for the State before the court that the status report had been prepared, sufficient steps had been taken, and persons had been arrested. It was also submitted before the court that on the basis of the status report, the local police station had taken steps, and the CID had also been alerted.
The Division bench in its order stated that the State to furnish its status report to the Court as well as the petitioners in the course of the day, and called for an exception to the report to be filed by the petitioners. Accordingly, the court listed the matter for further consideration on October 03, 2023.
