Gautam Adani has reclaimed the top position in the 2024 Hurun India Rich List, surpassing Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). Adani’s net worth has reached an astounding Rs 11.6 lakh crore, making him the wealthiest individual in India. This marks a significant achievement as he once again tops the prestigious list, pushing Ambani to the second spot.

India’s Growing Wealth Amidst Global Shifts

Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher of Hurun India, highlighted India’s growing influence as Asia’s wealth creation engine. While China saw a 25% decline in its number of billionaires, India experienced a 29% increase, reaching a record 334 billionaires in 2024.

Ambani, Nadar, and Poonawalla Follow in the Top Rankings

Mukesh Ambani secured the second position on the list with an impressive wealth of Rs 1,014,700 crore. Following Ambani, Shiv Nadar and his family from HCL Technologies ranked third with a net worth of Rs 314,000 crore. The Poonawalla family, known for their Serum Institute of India, came in fourth, while Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries rounded out the top five.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Debut on the Hurun India Rich List

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made his debut on the Hurun India Rich List 2024 with a net worth of Rs 7,300 crore. SRK’s wealth surge is attributed to his significant stakes in the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and the success of his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment.

Young Entrepreneurs Make Their Mark

The list also introduced its youngest members, including 21-year-old Kaivalya Vohra, co-founder of the $5 billion quick commerce startup Zepto, and 22-year-old Aadit Palicha, also a co-founder of Zepto.
