The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Nitin Agrawal, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness of the Force along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir on Friday. Despite challenging weather conditions and difficult terrain, Agrawal applauded the dedication and commitment of the BSF personnel.
During his visit to the forward area of the Srinagar sector LoC, DG BSF Nitin Agrawal interacted with deployed units, assessing their readiness and morale. In a statement posted on social media platform X, BSF Kashmir highlighted Agrawal’s motivation of the troops and recognition of their unwavering dedication in adverse conditions.

Accompanying the DG BSF during the LoC inspection was BSF Inspector General (Kashmir Frontier) Ashok Yadav. Yadav had recently emphasized the heightened risk of infiltration during significant events like the upcoming general elections, underscoring the vigilance of security forces to thwart any such attempts.

This review follows recent successful counter-insurgency operations in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, where two militants were neutralized by security forces while intercepting the first infiltration attempt of 2024 from across the border. The Indian Army later confirmed that the infiltration bid in Uri aimed to disrupt peace and the electoral process in Kashmir.

The BSF’s assessment and review of operational preparedness signify heightened security measures in the region, particularly in light of forthcoming important events, to safeguard against potential threats and maintain stability in the Kashmir Valley.
