SRINAGAR: A British national who was having a close brush with death in the Afarwat ski slopes was rescued by the Army and given all the first aid and warm clothing in their camp. Lachlan Stewart, a British national who is a skier lost track while he was on a ski trip in the Afarwat area and found himself in the dense forests with no mobile network zone.

According to the Army, the jawans spotted him and started the rescue operation to bring him to the nearby Army company operating base. According to the Army spokesman “A British national and a ski enthusiast, Lachlan Stewart, who was on a ski trip to Gulmarg, lost track while skiing at Afarwat/Gondola Phase Two”.

The Army said that British national was struggling for hours in heavy snow and was completely wet drenched in cold water as he negotiated snow streams while trying to come out from the place. The Army said that British national was treated with great hospitality and was finally dropped at his hotel in Gulmarg.
