Worldwide, souls are experiencing sorrow and lack of peace. We hear of rising levels of feelings of helplessness and anxiety. People are wanting, but not knowing how, to connect to some positive action aligned with their inner values of love, peace, and kindness.
Life can give us that opportunity and give us the chance to have a life full of meaning, only when we see the material world in a spiritual light. The quality of our life depends on the quality of our thoughts. Our mind is a powerful thing. It is not a cage; it is a garden that requires cultivating. When we fill it with positive thoughts, our life begins to change.

Challenges and situations will come, but they are what make life interesting; overcoming them makes life meaningful. With a spiritual outlook, situations get resolved more easily, because we become solution- oriented. We stop dwelling on the reasons why the situation arose, who is to blame, or how difficult everything has become. We focus on solutions which allows us to use our inner qualities and strengths. We lose our happiness when we think too much and focus only on the problem.

If we watch closely, we will notice that there is an aspect of our mind, our intellect, our conscience, watching our thoughts arise and leave. We need to get in touch with this observing capacity of the mind, as it helps us to step back and see the full picture and notice what we are thinking and change track if necessary. As we watch our thoughts and see how one thought can trigger a flood of other thoughts, we can see if we are heading down an unhelpful path, and if so, steer our thoughts in a more powerful direction.

As we practise observing our thoughts and adjusting the focus of the spiritual lens, we understand that a creating a better way of living is in our own hands. We focus on the positive, and as we become light-hearted, our interactions are filled with more love. It becomes easy then to embrace the inner values that we want to see in our world. To speak the truth, to take care never to cause sorrow to anyone, to never deceive, to see the good in each one and not notice their defects, to eschew criticism, and offer words of appreciation often. Whether we are fully aware of it or not, God has a plan to change the darkness into light. With spiritual wisdom, strengthened with meditation and understanding, we can bring light into our own life and the
lives of others.
