Varun Dhawan is a popular name in the Hindi film industry. The ‘Badlapur’ star enjoys a dedicated fan following because of his lively performances and perfect comic timing. Now, he has officially joined the cast of the Sunny Deol-led ‘Border 2’ and added an impressive film to his kitty.
‘Border 2’ is one of the most eagerly-awaited Bollywood films of recent times. It marks Sunny Deol’s returns as Fauji, a character he immortalised on the big screen over two decades ago. Now, Varun Dhawan has joined its cast. On Friday, August 23, the makers shared the news on Instagram and unveiled the film’s first look video. It features the iconic Sandese song and a patriotic dialogue from Varun.

Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ is expected to feature unforgettable dialogues and war scenes and this was the case with the first film as well. The sequel comes at a time when Sunny Deol has reemerged as a force to reckon with courtesy ‘Gadar 2’. The actioner opened in theatres last year and did well at the box office despite releasing alongside ‘OMG 2’.’ Border 2’ is slated to hit screens on January 23, 2026.
Varun, meanwhile, is going through a terrific phase on the work front. He was seen alongside Shraddha Kapoor in ‘Stree 2’, which set the box office on fire this Independence Day. Varun reprised his role as Bhediya from the horror-comedy universe in the film. Varun will soon be seen in ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He is also expected to headline ‘Bhediya 2’. The first part, which featured Kriti Sanon as the leading lady, didn’t do as well as expected at the ticket window when it hit screens in 2022. It, however, received acclaim because of the stunning visuals and songs. It remains to be seen whether ‘Bhediya 2’ is able to set the cash registers ringing.
