Indian YouTuber Ishan Sharma, currently visiting Los Angeles, shared a photo of a luxury Mercedes-Benz A-Class he received after booking a regular Uber. Sharma posted the image on X (formerly Twitter), noting, “Booked a regular Uber. A Mercedes pulls up! Only in Los Angeles.” The Uber driver, a woman with a 4.91 rating, was featured in the app’s photo.
Sharma mentioned he paid just $13 (Rs. 1091) for the ride and even got the driver to listen to Punjabi music.
The post attracted significant attention on X, with responses from users who had similar experiences of getting luxury Uber rides abroad, such as in the UAE and Austria. “Happened with me everyday in Dubai,” commented X user Shweta Kukreja.
In contrast, an Indian YouTuber based in Dubai, Aditya Gautam, shared a photo of a modest Maruti Swift Dzire he received when booking an Uber Premium in Bengaluru. “Booked an Uber Premier in Bangalore, India,” Gautam noted, highlighting the disparity in ride experiences.
