Malaika Arora has finally addressed Arjun Kapoor’s recent comment declaring himself “single,” which has been interpreted as confirmation of their breakup after dating for a significant period. In an interview with ETimes, Malaika expressed her desire to keep her personal life away from the media spotlight and scrutiny.
“I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative,” Malaika stated, emphasizing her commitment to privacy.
The context of Malaika’s response stems from a Diwali party hosted by Raj Thackeray in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, where Arjun Kapoor made headlines by stating, “Nahin ab main single hoon, relax karo” (No, I am now single. Relax) while speaking to the media. The video of his comment quickly went viral, drawing attention from fans and media alike. The event was also attended by Arjun’s co-stars from “Singham Again,” including Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, and director Rohit Shetty.
Despite their breakup, Arjun Kapoor has shown support for Malaika during challenging times, particularly following the tragic death of her father in September. He was seen comforting her and interacting with her family after the incident. In an interview with Raj Shamani, Arjun reflected on his emotional bond with Malaika, stating, “When what happened with dad and Khushi-Janhvi, there was an impulse. If I’ve formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad.”
He added, “If I’m invited for the good, I will be there. And if I’m needed for the bad, I will be there. I’m not somebody who has a lot of friends; I’m not doing this for all and sundry.”
Malaika Arora announced her divorce from Arbaaz Khan in 2017 and made her relationship with Arjun Kapoor Instagram official in 2019. During a recent appearance on “Koffee With Karan 8,” Arjun discussed his relationship with Malaika and how she was eventually accepted by his family after initial reluctance.
