Adil Hussain recently experienced a case of mistaken identity that left him quite entertained. He was mistakenly congratulated for winning a medal at the Paris Olympics, a feat actually achieved by Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec. Adil found the mix-up amusing and took it in stride.
The confusion began with a tweet that read, “Congratulations sir @_AdilHussain on winning silver at Olympics 2024 for Turkey. Respect.” The tweet included a picture of Adil and Yusuf, seemingly highlighting their resemblance. Adil, who was last seen in the film Ulajh with Janhvi Kapoor, found the situation more humorous than confusing.
Adil commented, “I don’t think the tweet was a mistake; it was clearly done in jest. I wasn’t shocked when I saw it.” He added, “Instead, I found it really funny and amusing.”
Taking the joke further, Adil posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Wish this was true… Maybe it’s not too late to start practicing… Since I have the attitude, I need to work on the skill set now.”
When asked if he saw any similarities between himself and Dikec, Adil joked that aside from their grey hair and glasses, there was no resemblance. He concluded, “The tweet was light-hearted, and I took it sportingly. It was really funny.”
