Gurugram-based social media influencer Bobby Kataria, known for his sizable following on Instagram, got arrested for the crime of human trafficking on Monday, May 27.
Bobby Kataria, also known as Balwant Kataria, boasts over three lakh followers on Instagram. Describing himself as a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter at both state and all-time event levels, he frequently shares fitness and nutrition tips on his social media platforms. In February 2023, Kataria ventured into the consultancy business, purportedly to facilitate job opportunities abroad for individuals seeking employment opportunities. , Kataria’s online persona is marked by controversial content, including the promotion of gun and gang violence, as reported by Times Now.
Before his recent arrest, Kataria had encountered legal troubles on multiple occasions. In September 2022, he was apprehended by the Delhi Police for smoking on an aeroplane. In August of the same year, a Dehradun court issued a non-bailable warrant against him after he posted a video of himself drinking in public and blocking a road. Furthermore, in August 2022, the Gurugram police arrested Kataria for assaulting a woman and spreading derogatory words about her on social media. This matter is pending in court.
