On Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lumbaram Choudhary submitted his nomination papers for the Jalore Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan, ahead of the forthcoming elections.

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Lumbaram Choudhary will contest against Vaibhav Gehlot, the son of Ashok Gehlot and the Congress candidate, for the Jalore Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, BJP leader PP Chaudhary submitted his nomination papers for the Pali Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan, with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in attendance.

Chaudhary, who has served as a Member of Parliament from Pali for two terms, is vying for reelection in the upcoming general elections. The incumbent MP from Pali, PP Chaudhary, faces competition from the Congress’s Lok Sabha candidate, Sangeeta Beniwal.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Chaudhury secured victory over the Congress’ Badriram Jakhar. Similarly, in the 2014 election, PP Chaudhary emerged victorious, defeating the Indian National Congress candidate (INC) Munni Devi Godara.

After filing his nomination for the election and addressing reporters, Union Minister and BJP member Gajendra Singh Shekhawat affirmed the BJP’s commitment to preventing the Congress party from securing any seats in Rajasthan. He also voiced confidence in the BJP’s ability to secure victory by a margin exceeding 5 lakh votes.

“In the elections of 2014 and 2019 in Rajasthan, just as we won all twenty-five seats, this time again, we enter the electoral battle with the same resolve that the Congress party will not open its account in Rajasthan. In the Pali Lok Sabha constituency, following Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s determination to win by more than 5 lakh votes, we are not just fighting to win but to win with a margin greater than 5 lakh votes. Today, we are filing our nomination and entering the fray of the election with this aim,” he said.

Rajasthan is set to hold elections in two phases, on April 19 and April 26. The first phase, scheduled for April 19, will witness polling for 12 Lok Sabha seats, while the second phase on April 26 will cover the remaining 13 seats.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP secured victory in 24 out of 25 seats, with the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party winning one seat. Conversely, in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the BJP emerged victorious in all 25 parliamentary constituencies.
