Former State President of BJP Arun Chaturvedi, while addressing a press conference at the state office, accused Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of violating the Model Code of Conduct and being out of control of the law. During this, former State President Arun Chaturvedi said, “This week, the Election Commission announced the election dates in five states, and after that, the Model Code of Conduct came into force in all five states. Meanwhile, the Congress government of the state has been constantly transferring, announcing, and giving inducements for the last 4 months, fearing the loss of power. On the day when the Model Code of Conduct was in force, transfer and announcements continued in the Secretariat till late at night, and a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct was done publicly.”
Chaturvedi said that on the day when the Model Code of Conduct was in force, the announcement of three members of the Rajasthan State Employees’ Board, appointments in the economically weaker section, and the formation of five new boards were made. He said, “All these were open violations of the Model Code of Conduct. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot knew that the day he was making someone the chairman of the board after the Model Code of Conduct was imposed, they would neither get a car nor staff because it would only be an electoral announcement. Despite knowing all this, the state minister was given the status of a minister by the Chief Minister.”
In the last 48 hours, more than 500 complaints of Model Code of Conduct violation have been received by the Election Commission. Out of which, the returning officer found 134 correct, and 115 complaints have been rejected.
He said that for the last few days, Chief Minister Gehlot has been fond of showing his photo, there are hoardings, banners, and posters on the roads, but there are no photos of his party’s leaders in them. He said that perhaps this is a matter of concern for the Congress.
Chaturvedi said, “We will write a letter to the Election Commission against putting the photo of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on government schemes. Mostly, the Chief Minister has put his photo on electricity bills, guarantee cards, government letters, and the distribution of smartphones. In the coming times, the work of distributing pattas, the Congress government is working on making its own plan. In it too, there is a photo of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, through which words can be influenced. We hope that the Election Commission will take cognizance of all these matters and take appropriate action on our demand. The law and order situation is out of the control of the state government. In this manner, representatives of the government, and government agents are either ignoring these incidents or standing with the criminals knowingly. The state’s law and order has completely deteriorated, there is an environment of lawlessness, and the situation of jungle raj has been created.”
