As parliamentary elections draw near, all the political parties in Haryana are mulling over every possible strategy to win the battle. In this series, the saffron BJP has released the list of organisational appointments as a part of the preparations taking all factors into account. The BJP state leadership is believed to come up with new organisational set names namely State Vice Presidents, District Presidents and other appointments considering the caste factor in a bid to gain political mileage.

With new appointments, the most important aspect has been witnessed in Southern Haryana where every effort was made to strike political balance among the party stalwarts in view of the prevailing rift among them. As part of a strategy and calculative political move, the bigwigs have not given the expected importance ahead of the polls.

In order to woo voters from Southern Haryana known as Ahirwal belt, the party mulled over all possible aspects and applied the same while finalising the list. It is a noticeable fact that the battle for supremacy among the Yadav leaders of the Ahirwal belt has been going on for a long time which is most likely to be intensified ahead of the polls.
Union Minister Rao Inderjit, a leader with a personal base and sitting MP from Gurugram, was disappointed with the list of new appointments as none of his supporters and loyalists were given berth in the organization, bringing him on backfoot to some extent in the state politics.

It is being considered as a huge setback to Rao Inderjeet ahead of the forthcoming polls. On the contrary, the leaders of his opposition group have received a lot of attention as their supporters succeeded in getting key positions in the organisational set up. The list of arch rivals of Roa Inderjeet includes several stalwarts in South Haryana adding to the woes. Former MP Sudha Yadav, a member of the BJP Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee who has been at loggerheads with Roa Inderjeet over several issues earlier succeeded in proving her dominance over him as her loyalists and supporters were given berths in the organisation.

Rewari and Gurugram emerge as politically significant regions. Pritam Chauhan, her close one Pritam Chauhan has been appointed the district president of the Rewari district which clearly indicates a lot politically. Similarly, another aide Kamal Yadav was appointed to the post of District President. One of the senior BJP leaders said on anonymity that despite the unfavorable political conditions and continuous dissent, he managed to regain the chair of the district president, a setback to Roa Inderjeet.

It could happen only because of the support and advocacy of Dr. Sudha Yadav. It is also important to mention that after the removal of Omprakash Dhankar from the post of state president, anti-Rao leaders have got a bigger role in the organization.

Ahead of polls, all BJP opponents in Ahirwal belt are attempting to foil each others’ plan to garner the ticket for their loyalists leaving no stone unturned to showcase their strength. Amid the ongoing ingfighting, the leaders from all factions are on toes to prove their dominance, sending a political message to the central party leadership. However, despite the efforts of the state leadership, the internal conflicts persist, adding to the challenges faced by the party high command.

Likewise, in the appointments, Santosh Yadav, a former MLA from Ateli seat and GL Sharma, former chairman of the board and corporation, from the opposition group were made vice presidents, another setback to Rao Inderjeet ahead of the polls. Apart from this, she also held the responsibility of Deputy Speaker in the Assembly and was believed to be upset with Roa Inderjeet over the denial of a ticket from Ateli in the last assembly elections, considering him responsible. In such a situation, it has become clear that Rao Inderjit’s opponents have got a lot of attention in the list.

Rao Inderjeet is believed to have widespread hold on around a dozen constituencies namely Firozpur Jhirka, Punhana, Nuh, Narnaul, Ateli, Pataudi, Rewari, Bawal, Kosli, Sohna, Badshahpur, Mahendragarh and Nangal Chaudhary in Ahirwal belt. However, he is continuously facing hurdles after he had joined the BJP,especially during the second regime of BJP in Haryana. In a bid to strike the balance Bhupendra Yadav, a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan and a close one to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah who was inducted into the Union Cabinet only 2 years ago also made to be active in South Haryana.

Apart from this, BJP had shocked Rao Inderjit Singh by making Dr. Sudha Yadav, who had once defeated Rao Inderjit Singh in the Lok Sabha elections from Mahendragarh seat, a member of the most powerful Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party last year. She is the only woman in the BJP Parliamentary Board and is in the fray for the ticket from Gurugram seat. While reacting to the appointments, State spokesperson of Haryana Aggarwal Vaishya Samaj, Sumit Hindustani has accused BJP of ignoring the Vaishya Samaj. Said that Bharatiya Janata Party is an anti-Vaishya Samaj party. Today BJP is busy ignoring its own core vote bank. Whereas earlier he did not make even a single person from the society a minister in Rajasthan. Now in Haryana also the Vaishya community was ignored in the appointment of district presidents of the party.
