In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May this year, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, J P Nadda, is set to undertake a one-day visit to Jammu on January 7.

Sources reveal that Nadda will be visiting one state in North India and two Union Territories to assess the preparedness for the Lok Sabha elections and the implementation of various welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government. The BJP aims to secure over 51 percent vote share in every state and Union Territory, eyeing a significant victory to return to power at the Centre for a third consecutive term.

During his visit to Jammu, Nadda will engage in a day-long meeting with senior party functionaries, Core Group members, office bearers, Prabharis, district presidents, and Morcha heads along with their Prabharis. The focus will be on formulating a strategy for a vigorous campaign in the Union Territory, with the goal of securing victory in more than two out of the total five Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

The party is particularly targeting the Anantnag-Poonch Lok Sabha seat this time, aiming to increase its tally in the region. Nadda will discuss various probabilities and poll strategies with the UT leadership, seeking complete feedback on poll preparedness and emphasizing concentration on areas where the party faced challenges during the last Lok Sabha elections.

Efforts will be made to engage young and first-time voters, apprising them of flagship programs launched by the Modi Government for the overall welfare of the nation. Nadda will also seek a comprehensive report on the progress of BJP’s activities in the UT, focusing on taking government schemes to the doorsteps of the people and spreading awareness about party policies and programs.

Accompanied by national general secretary Tarun Chugh and co-incharge Ashish Sood, Nadda will be joined by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and party national secretary Dr. Narinder Singh during the visit. The discussions and strategies outlined during this meeting will likely set the tone for BJP’s election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.
