BJP MP Jayant Sinha has joined the list of party’s Lok Sabha members who have asked party president JP Nadda to relieve their of their electoral responsibilities. Sinha made the appeal on Saturday a few hours after BJP’s East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir, too, asked Nadda to allow him to opt out of electoral politics.

The two-term MP from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand, Sinha, expressed his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, and the BJP leadership for the past 10 years of service to the people of Bharat and Hazaribagh.

There are rumors that the BJP would refuse some of its current MPs tickets to contest Lok Sabha election 2024.

Two days after the BJP Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting in the nation’s capital to decide on the initial list of candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Gambhir and Sinha made their statements.

Gambhir stated earlier in the day that he had asked JP Nadda, the head of the BJP, to release him from his political obligations.

“Abki baar 400 paar” is the campaign slogan that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen for this year’s Lok Sabha elections. The goal of the BJP is to secure over 370 seats by itself.

In its meeting to select candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, the CEC of the BJP discussed the party’s choices for roughly sixteen states, with rumors swirling that a number of influential individuals would be included in the initial list, according to news agency PTI.

To finalize the nominees, the CEC members combed through the probables for states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, and Uttarakhand, among others. Among them were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the national president of the party, J P Nadda, and Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh.
