On Tuesday afternoon, BJP MLA’s house was attacked in Haldia of East Midnapore district. Allegations of vandalism of the house of BJP MLA, Tapsi Mandal, in Haldia on Tuesday afternoon have been levelled against the miscreants ‘sheltered’ by the Trinamool Congress. In the whole incident, the BJP MLA pointed the finger of blame at the Trinamool, but the latter denied the allegations.
It is learned that Haldia MLA Tapsi Mandal was not at home on Tuesday afternoon. At that time a group of miscreants came and attacked the house of the legislator
Besides, the miscreants started throwing brickbats at the house. In such a situation, other members of the legislator’s house informed the local Durgachak police station and the miscreants fled the area. The family members of the legislator are in a state of panic over the incident. BJP MLA Tapsi Mandal said, “Some miscreants from the grassroots came and attacked my house this afternoon. They fired brickbats at the house and hurled inaudible insults at me.”
Meanwhile, several BJP activists and supporters have said they have fled their homes and are homeless since the post-poll violence in Bengal was perpetrated on them. The 26 families live in Premganj area of Ausgram area. They have been living homeless, like wanderers, due to Trinamool panic that has gripped the area after the recent elections. At present they have left their area and are living in tents in the Bhatkunda area of Budbud.
Krishna Dayal Karmakar, leader of BJP’s Kisan Morcha in Burdwan district, said, “Trinamool activists have been harassing BJP activists since the polls, forcing many BJP activists to flee their homes and seek refuge elsewhere.”
On the other hand, the president of the Trinamool Bloc of Ausgram Block No. 2 said that no such incident has taken place anywhere. There is an atmosphere of peace in all areas across the state. However, a section of the BJP is conspiring to discredit the Trinomool, he added.
