BJP leader Munna Sharma was shot dead by unidentified assailants while reportedly attempting to resist a chain-snatching attempt in Patna on Monday morning. Sharma, who previously served as the BJP mandal president, was attacked near a restaurant in Patna City. The police received notification of the incident around 6:15 a.m.
Sharma’s family quickly transported him to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The Patna Police are currently investigating the case, examining CCTV footage from the area, and collecting evidence from the crime scene. A special police team, along with forensic experts, is working to identify and apprehend the suspects.
Chowk Police Station SHO Shashi Kumar Rana stated, “We received information about the shooting this morning. Sharma was taken to the hospital but passed away. CCTV footage and other technical evidence are being analyzed to determine the perpetrators.”
In response to the incident, RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, criticized the state government for its handling of crime in Bihar. Yadav accused the government of allowing criminal activities to flourish and criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for being ineffective in managing the state’s security. Yadav’s comments were shared on social media, highlighting the ongoing concerns about crime in the region.
