Senior BJP leader and chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, Hansraj Ahir, has instructed civic officials in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur to submit a proposal to the government for blacklisting a contractor responsible for incomplete projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).
Ahir conducted a review meeting with civic officials following multiple complaints about the unfinished projects. He expressed concern over the delay and lack of proper planning by the civic authorities and Maharashtra Jeevan Pradikaran, as the AMRUT projects, originally scheduled for completion by 2021, are still unfinished. In a statement, Ahir emphasized the seriousness of the issue, stating that despite an expenditure of Rs 240 crore under AMRUT, people are not receiving water. He pointed out that the company assigned to complete the projects had not finished them, even after receiving an advance payment from the civic body. He called for immediate action to blacklist the company.
