The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (DMK) youth conference is set to take place on January 21 in Salem, Tamil Nadu. Ahead of this conference, Tamil Nadu CM and DMK President, MK Stalin, wrote a letter to the cadres.
In the letter, the CM reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was using religion as a political tool, trying to impose Hindi and Sanskrit on the people and even gave Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar saffron hues. He also accused BJP of using the state governors to further their political ambitions. Stalin emphasized they must work with their INDIA bloc parties to defeat the BJP.
Stalin wrote, “The BJP, with its supporters and state governors, has been trying to spread saffron ideology among all. The party has been infringing upon rights of states during its 10-year rule. We are witnessing atrocities against democratic ethics and several state rights, including education, language, financial, and legal.”
“Political scenario in India is now seeing governors engage in cheap politics. But, the DMK has the strength to democratically defeat all such outrageous politics. I urge you all to understand the value of the youth conference which will serve as a training ground and prepare you for the general election,” he added.
A few days ago, Stalin, 70, addressed the rumours regarding his health and the elevation of his son Udhayanidhi Stalin to Deputy CM. In a letter to his partymen on occasion of Pongal, he wrote, “I am healthy and cheerful. I am working, working, working. People are spreading false information about my health. Rumours were being spread to create a sensation that a deputy CM post (for Udhayanidhi) was going to be given. Party workers should not allow diverting the focus of the Youth Wing meet, which would be the cry for state rights. The intention of the conference would be to protect state rights and federalism. Those opposed to this are spreading rumours.”
MK Stalin and DMK Youth Secretary and Sports Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin, will preside over the youth conference in Salem on Sunday. Other important DMK leaders will also be in attendance.
