Civil polls in Haryana are to be held on 19 June and the BJP along with its ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) have announced to fight the elections jointly. The BJP has come up with its manifesto having a string of big announcements.

Apart from this, out of the total 47 seats, the BJP will contest the elections on the party symbol for 36 seats. Contrary to this, Congress, the main opposition party in Haryana, has decided to fight the election not on the party symbol. In view of this, the ruling faction the BJP and the JJP continue to take on the Congress saying that the party has already surrendered which reveals its weak position in state politics.

While releasing its manifesto for the civic polls, the party leaders said that it is a commitment paper that represents all sections of society. The BJP, which described its poll manifesto as a ‘Sankalp Patra’, promised to come up with several new projects for the betterment of the commoners residing in urban and semi-urban areas as these fall under the Municipal Council and Municipal Committees.

While reacting to this Kamal Gupta, the Urban Local body Minister, said that this commitment paper represents all sections of the society. Its focus is on addressing a person sitting on the last pedestal, he said. The focus will also be on infrastructure relating to healthcare, sports, solar lights, community centres, and many more fields. Further, he informed that on the lines of Indore, the government is planning to set up a Sarafa Bazar in the state which is likely to benefit the community involved in the trade.

Besides, in a bid to strengthen the law and order situation in the state, the BJP manifesto also mentions that CCTVs equipped with advanced technology will be installed across the state. Apart from this, the BJP has come up with a plan to regularise the illegal colonies mushrooming in the last few years in the state. Further, the manifesto stated that BJP will try its best to remove the obstacles in areas falling under municipal council and committees pertaining to the house tax. Besides, the party will work upon a strategy to make more vending zones and provide vending licences to the street vendors in the state.

Apart from the aforesaid, new gates will be constructed at the entry points of the concerned towns and the cities after the BJP wins the elections. The manifesto also stated that bringing night food points into existence is also an essential part of this. Although, a plan also has been included to get rid of stray dogs along with cattle which is the main factor behind the increasing road accidents in the state.
