Chandigarh: In the monsoon session, the ruling faction BJP and the main opposition party Congress will be confronting each other over a string of issues. The BJP and its alliance partner Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) are mulling over a strategy to take on the main opposition party Congress. Prior to this, a meeting of the Congress legislators was held under the chairmanship of the party stalwart and the leader of the opposition (LOP) Bhupender Singh Hooda, ahead of the session to come up with a plan to take on the ruling faction. There is an array of issues that is believed to be discussed in the session— farmers’ protest, preparation towards the possibility of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Experts believe that Congress is most likely to attack the BJP-JJP led government, particularly over the contentious three agro laws along with the farmer’s protest which is going on due to the same reason. On contrary to this, the ruling faction is believed to avoid discussing the issue in session. It is pertinent to mention that the farmers continue to agitate against the controversial farm laws, so in wake of this, the opposition seems not to leave any opportunity to cash the issue for political mileage and the government does not seem in comfortable position about the same.
While talking about Congress’ strategy in the monsoon session, Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that a lot of issues have been discussed in the meeting with party legislators. The party has given adjournment and calling attention motion over many issues, particularly including paper-leak and scams in recruitment.
It is worth mentioning that the issue of paper-leak in Haryana has become the talk of the town these days, as the opposition continues to accuse the government of failure in fair conduct of exams. It can not be denied that to some extent, the issue has given a spurt to the troubles of the government. Thus, in view of the ongoing scenario, the monsoon session is likely to be heated.
