After the BJP’s decisive third-term win in Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp criticism of the Congress, accusing the opposition of being “irresponsible” and a “factory of hatred.” Speaking virtually at an event inaugurating ₹7,600 crore worth of development projects in Maharashtra, Modi claimed that Congress was trying to divide Hindus and create discord among communities.

The BJP secured 48 of the 90 seats in Haryana’s assembly, while Congress won 37. Modi said the victory reflected the national mood and reinforced faith in his government’s policies as the Maharashtra elections approach.

Modi accused Congress of spreading lies and trying to stoke discontent among Dalits, youth, and farmers, but credited BJP’s development record for winning voter trust. He highlighted that the people of Haryana rejected Congress’ “hateful conspiracies” and its “urban naxal allies.”

During the event, Modi laid the foundation for infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, including upgrades to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur and a new terminal at Shirdi Airport. He also inaugurated the Indian Institute of Skills in Mumbai, Vidya Samiksha Kendra, and 10 new medical colleges.

Calling for a larger win in Maharashtra, Modi said, “The Congress is not concerned with development. Our goal is to build a Viksit Bharat focused on the development of the poor, farmers, youth, and women.”
