After a long wait of three years, a general assembly meeting is scheduled to be held on March 6th in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage. Discussions on nearly 7 agendas will be held during the general assembly, but even before this, councilors from the Congress and BJP have opened a front against Mayor Munesh Gurjar.

Congress and BJP councilors expressed dissatisfaction to the Commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage, Abhishek Surana. They questioned why the budget was sent to the government without discussion, when the general assembly meeting of the municipal corporation was scheduled for March 6th.

BJP councilor Kusum Yadav said that Mayor Munesh Gurjar has fostered rampant corruption in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. Without holding a general assembly meeting, he sent the budget of crores of rupees to the government. The budget was scheduled to be discussed in the general assembly meeting on March 6th. In such a situation, the budget should have been sent to the government after discussion with the councilors, but in the manner he sent the budget to the government without the councilors’ discussion, it reflects his dictatorial attitude.

Kusum Yadav said that not only the BJP and the people of Jaipur but also the leaders of the Congress are distressed by Mayor Munesh Gurjar. Complaints of corruption against him are increasing continuously. Previously, her husband was caught red-handed in a bribery case. Despite this, he is not deterred from engaging in corruption.

She said that Mayor Munesh Gurjar has worsened the situation in Jaipur. Due to him, the development of the city has stalled. The problems of the people are not being addressed by the councilors. Due to this, we have met with the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation to convey our issues. During this, more than 50 BJP and Congress councilors were present.

After the formation of the Heritage Board of the Municipal Corporation, the general assembly of the Heritage Municipal Corporation was held only once in February 2021. In this, a budget of Rs. 784 crores for the year 2021-2022 was passed. After this, Mayor Munesh Gurjar did not call for a single board meeting citing COVID and legislative sessions. A budget of Rs. 879 crores for the year 2022-2023 and a budget of Rs. 1082 crores for the year 2023-2024 were sent to the government.

According to the rules, a board meeting is necessary once a year. In this case, according to the rules, there should have been 18 meetings in three years, but instead of 18, only one general assembly meeting has been held in three years.
