All the parties are on toes in a bid to strengthen their position ahead of the upcoming assembly as well parliamentary elections in Haryana. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) have put efforts to show their strength through conducting rallies in Kaithal and Sikar respectively on 25 September. In this series, carrying forward the legacy of Sir Chhotu Aram, messiah of farmers, BJP stalwart Chaudhary Birendra Singh will holda rally ‘Meri Awaaz Suno’ on October 2 to showcase his strength as well as strengthen his claims on Uchana assembly seat ahead of polls. Mentioning it a non political event, he has not invited any BJP leader in the rally. In a bid to make the rally a successful conduct, he has left no stone unturned. Apart from the BJP, other parties are keeping an eye on Birendra Singh’s rally as it might have far reaching implications on the state politics. It is pertinent to mention that he is believed to be upset internally with his party for a long time which is evident from his statements. Political experts believe that Birendra Singh will try to make the party realize his strength by gathering maximum crowd in the rally.
Birendra Singh’s supporters are continuously claiming that he may come up with a big decision in the rally. Prior to this, discussions pertaining to the same surfaced that he could bid a farewell to the BJP and form his own new party but he continued to deny such possibilities.Once again, such discussions continue to come to fore that either he can declare his own party by giving up BJP or join the Congress. This issue is continuously coming to the fore whether BJP will benefit or suffer loss from this rally. BJP itself is also closely monitoring the entire incident. However, political experts believe that if the rally is successful then BJP will benefit from it somewhere, provided Birendra Singh does not decide to separate from BJP.
It is a noticeable fact that following several issues, BJP does not have any special penetration among the Jat community. Chaudhary Virendra Singh does emerge among the powerful Jat leaders, so BJP is trying to break into the Jat vote bank through him. If Chaudhary Birendra Singh succeeds in wooing Jatland and Jats through this rally, then BJP is most likely to get political mileage from it, but in return, Birendra Singh will also be in a position to make political negotiations with BJP for the bright political future of his son Brijender Singh who was elected MP from Hisar on the ticket of the BJP in 2019.
One of the BJP bigwigs said on anonymity said that BJP also wants Birendra Singh’s rally to be successful as through this, the party will be successful in hitting two targets with one shot i.e to build pressure on its ally the JJP along with wooing the Jat vote bank considering Birender Singh as an substitute of the JJP. Before being called in the NDA meeting, BJP leaders were continuously saying that JJP should get rid of the JJP before the elections without any further delay. Due to this, JJP was also seen on the back foot somewhere. Since it is now a part of NDA, the party got relief from the pressure politics of BJP. Now, on the pretext of contesting elections in Rajasthan, the JJP is trying its best to build pressure on BJP somewhere. In this context, if Birendra Singh’s rally is successful, BJP will be able to put pressure on its ally JJP. Besides, the BJP decides to bring its alliance with the JJO to an end, it will be much easierBirender Singh’s supporters claim that arrangements have been made for more than 50 thousand people in the rally. If the rally goes as per their expectation, then by creating pressure through it, he will seek assurance from BJP about their son’s safe political future.
It is noteworthy that the families of Chaudhary Birendra Singh and the Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala are at loggerheads over the issue of political dominance and supremacy. Chaudhary Birendra Singh said several times that BJP should break up with JJP and this will harm the party in the elections. Besides, he and his wife Premlata continue to claim that their family will contest from Uchana seat irrespective of what the circumstances are.
Notably, Chaudhary Birendra Singh has been MLA from Uchana assembly seat for five times while currently Deputy CM is the sitting MLA from the seat . Uchana is considered to be the ancestral seat of Uchana Birendra Singh and in a bid to regain, he is on toes preparing for the polla. It is noteworthy that Chaudhary Birendra Singh was first MLA from Uchana seat in 1977.
