Angered by her lover’s repeated refusal to marry her, a woman allegedly sedated and bobbitised him before flushing the severed body part down the toilet in Saran district on Monday morning.

The incident came to light when 28-year-old Ved Prakash Singh, also known as Vikas, sought help from locals while writhing in pain. Police have arrested Abhilasha (32), while Vikas is currently receiving treatment in a local hospital. Vikas, a ward councillor of Marhoura Nagar Panchayat, hails from Purani Bazar in Marhaura, Saran district.

Abhilasha, who ran a private nursing home in Marhaura, is a native of Kartaha Buzurg village in Vaishali district. It is believed that Vikas helped her establish the nursing home. Locals reported that the two were in a live-in relationship.

“A case has been registered under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) that has come into force from Monday,” said Saran SP, Kumar Ashish. He also mentioned that an FSL team has been engaged to investigate the case.

On Monday, Abhilasha asked Vikas to visit the nursing home. Upon his arrival, she injected him with a sedative, and once he was unconscious, she bobbitised him and flushed the body part into the toilet, according to police.

Abhilasha reportedly told those present that despite agreeing to marry her and setting 7-8 wedding dates, Vikas never showed up. She alleged that Vikas had promised to marry her even on Monday, and she had made preparations accordingly. When he refused to go through with the marriage, she decided to teach him a lesson.

Police sources indicated that Vikas is out of danger and has been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for further treatment.
