On Monday, former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader Rabri Devi submitted her nomination for the Bihar MLC elections. Rabri Devi, alongside four other Mahagathbandhan candidates, filed their nomination papers for the elections.
Three additional candidates from RJD include Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Dr. Urmila Thakur, and Syed Faisal Ali. Shashi Yadav from CPI-ML also submitted the nomination.
Rabri Devi was observed alongside the party president and her husband, Lalu Prasad Yadav, displaying a victory sign.
Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, and other leaders were in attendance at the event.
Following the nomination filing by former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav expressed confidence that RJD would emerge victorious in the MLC elections.
“Today five candidates have filed their nominations from the Mahagathbandhan. In five candidates there are three women,” former Deputy CM said.
Previously, on Saturday, the BJP unveiled its roster of candidates for the Uttar Pradesh and Bihar MLC elections.
Bihar has a total of 11 seats available for contention.
The BJP has revealed its candidates for three seats in Bihar for the MLC election 2024, namely Mangal Pandey, Dr. Lal Mohan Gupta, and Anamika Singh.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Khalid Anwar, under the JD(U) quota, have already submitted their nominations.
State BJP leaders, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with senior JD-U leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Vijay Choudhary, Ashok Choudhary, and others attended the nomination of Bihar CM.
The last date for filing nominations for the March 21 MLC polls in Bihar and UP was scheduled for Monday, March 11.
