According to authorities, a man was shot by an unidentified assailant inside a hospital in the Bihar city of Arrah, suffering critical wounds. The man was shot three times on Thursday night, suffering grave wounds.
Police have named the victim as Ranganath Chauhan, also known as Chhotu Chauhan.
The shooting occurred yesterday while Chauhan was in a private nursing home in Arrah attending to his wife’s delivery, according to the police.
He was shot at while he was waiting for his wife’s delivery, they said. Doctors immediately operated on him and removed the bullets but his condition is said to be critical. The attackers, however, managed to flee.
Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar said the motive behind the shooting incident is not clear yet, and efforts are on to identify criminals with the help of CCTV footage. Further investigation into the case is underway.
