Bhalase kept the body hidden on the bed for an entire day, only disposing of it in a water tank when flies began gathering around the corpse. His actions were concealed with the assistance of his mother, Basanti, and sister, Chanchal, both of whom have been arrested alongside him on charges of hiding the crime.
