Sources of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Nyas have indicated that Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya may take place in October, between Navratra and Vijayadashami (Dussehra). Sources have said that construction work is on for the rest of the buildings in the 78-acre campus, and if the pandemic is controlled in time, the Bhoomi Pujan may take place around Durga Puja.
On the other hand, the Sunni Waqf Board has also decided that the construction of a mosque in Ayodhya on the five acre-land given by the Supreme Court will also begin in October. On 7 March, five acres of land were allotted to the Sunni Waqf Board for construction of a mosque in Dhannipur village of Sohawal tehsil, 22 km from the city of Ayodhya.
After the decision taken in an important meeting last held on 26 June, a letter was sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. Preparations for a grand ceremony will start after a go-ahead from the PM. To make this historic moment and celebration memorable, there will be a vigorous exercise to brand the event and en-sure everyone’s enthusiastic participation.
On 25 May, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and Ram Janambhoomi Nyas, told The Daily Guardian: “We have come to see Ram Janmabhoomi. The court of Ramlala is a very sacred place. Everyone should come here to visit. The construction of Ram Janmabhoomi has also started with newly installed machines doing their work. Construction work will take time now.” Mahant Nritya Gopal Das of the cantonment has been associated with the Ram Mandir movement since a long time, and held important positions in Ram Janmabhoomi. He was the President of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas before being appointed as President of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust.
The work of levelling the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex has been going on since 11 May. In addition to the statues built on more than a dozen stone pillars, a large number of fragmented statues of deities, carved Shivling and door frame etc. have been found. A well has also been found below one of the places where the structure had three domes. Apart from this, many important relics associated with the silver throne and Ramdarbar have been found from many places.
