Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has undergone successful hernia surgery, as confirmed by his office on Monday. According to a statement from his office on Sunday evening, Netanyahu is “in good condition and beginning to recover” after the operation. The surgery was closely monitored, coinciding with the six-month mark since the outbreak of war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu’s hernia was discovered during a routine checkup on Saturday, and the decision to proceed with surgery was made after consulting with doctors and completing his daily tasks.

Additionally, thousands of Israelis gathered in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, calling for Netanyahu’s resignation and the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza. The conflict in Gaza began after a Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in approximately 1,160 deaths in Israel, primarily civilians.

According to the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza, Israel’s counter-offensive has resulted in the deaths of at least 32,782 people, mostly women and children.
