Police reported that a fatal accident occurred near the Kariyana Palya area in Bengaluru when a speeding car collided with a scooter rider, resulting in the rider’s death. The deceased individual has been identified as Ajay Kumar, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for West Bengaluru.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 AM when a car traveling at high speed from the Palya side of Chikkegowda towards Uttara Halli road collided with a scooter rider on Technology road, as explained by the police. The DCP attributed the accident to the car driver’s reckless and negligent behavior, stating that the driver collided with the scooter traveling in the opposite direction.
Tragically, the scooter rider sustained severe injuries and lost their life at the scene of the accident, while the driver of the car fled from the scene. In response, the police station has initiated legal proceedings by registering a case under Section 279-304(A) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act (IMV).
The DCP emphasized that an investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to locate the accused individual and the vehicle involved in the incident.
