Ahead of the general election, political heat in in Punjab is rising as as Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched a scathing attack on Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Badal and his family-owned hotel Sukhvilas.

CM Mann, referring to it as Dukhvilas instead of Sukhvilas, makes significant revelations about the Sukh Vilas Hotel in the Pallanpur village near Mohali. The Chief Minister presented all details during a press conference, disclosing that the Badal family had evaded taxes amounting to Rs 108 crore.

Mann stated that the Badal family purchased 86 acres of land in Pallanpur and, in 2009, manipulated the Eco-Tourism Policy for their exclusive benefit in constructing the Sukh Vilas Hotel. He emphasized that this move did not bring any benefits to anyone else in the state following the same manipulated policy.

The Chief Minister affirmed that action would be taken against the hotel for violating regulations. Policies have been devised solely for their hotel, without benefiting anyone else. Mann further mentioned that the Justice Tax and various other smaller taxes were levied on them. Any responsibility falling on them will be pursued, as the policies were crafted only for the Sukh Vilas Hotel, causing no advantage to others.
Mann assured that all funds would be audited, and any excess would be returned to Punjab’s treasury. He vowed swift action against any wrongdoing in this matter.
